Step by Step

Travel from Brussels to two of the most beautiful destinations in Flanders, Bruges and Ghent, on a full-day tour that you will experience in a comfortable air-conditioned bus.

You will explore romantic lanes, narrow waterways crossed by small bridges and medieval castles in these cities of the Flemish Region, a must for tourists visiting Belgium.

Accompanied by a professional guide, you will explore Ghent's iconic monuments and sites, such as the following:

  • St. Bavo's Cathedral: inside this ancient Gothic church you will see the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, a legendary work of art that is not to be missed.
  • Belfry: an impressive limestone tower, some 91 metres high, dating from the 14th century. At its top stands the famous sculpture of the Dragon of Ghent.
  • St. Nicholas Church: complements the line of the three towers along with St. Bavo's Cathedral and the Belfry, facing the busy Korenmarkt square.
  • Castle of the Counts: this impressive Middle Evo fortress is one of the last remaining intact castles with moat, dungeons and torture chambers in Europe.

The journey continues to Bruges, a small, easy-to-navigate city with a medieval charm that is typical of its past. You will move between picturesque houses, squares and museums that will make you feel like in a fairy tale, as you stroll through places such as:

  • Bruges Cathedral: among the labyrinth of narrow streets and houses, stands the imposing structure of the cathedral and its iconic bell tower, which you can climb if you can endure the 366 steps.
  • Burg Square: this busy, eclectic square in the historic centre is home to the town hall and the Basilica of the Holy Blood.
  • Lake Minnewater: known in English as the Lake of Love, this is the most romantic spot in the city, where you can stroll among lush greenery and a calm pond.
  • Beaterio Ten Wijngaarde: this former beaterio is now a Benedictine convent. During the visit, you will learn about the mark left by the European Beguine movement of the Middle Ages.

And if you want to get a perspective of the city on your own, from its idyllic waterways, you can choose to take a boat trip on the waterways that run through the city (not included in the tour).

The river looks like a mirror of water that perfectly complements the medieval surroundings of the city.
