Step by Step

Joining the Brussels Comic Strip Tour will take you on an epic tour of the city's streets, where you'll discover how the influence of Belgian comics, including The Adventures of Tintin and The Smurfs, has left a lasting mark on the region's popular culture.

You will explore the heart of Brussels on a route full of street art, murals, the house that inspired one of the most famous Franco-Belgian comic strip characters and even a curious statue of The Smurfs in the middle of the city.

A very entertaining and culturally enriching experience, which is also suitable for both comic book lovers and those who have never heard of the so-called "ninth art".

You will have the opportunity to see giant historical murals scattered throughout the streets of Brussels, dedicated to iconic comic book characters such as Broussaille, Yoko Tsuno, Lucky Luck, and Mannekin Pis, inspired by the popular sculpture of the boy urinating in a fountain, a symbol of Brussels.

With comics such as Ric Hochet, The Young Albert, Kinky & Cosy and Thorgal as examples, you will learn about the history of this art form in Belgium and its global impact, while walking through real places that have served as references for all these series.

And of course, the most emblematic of them all, part of the tour will be dedicated to the beloved Tintin, visiting the house that inspired his home, the mural alluding to the "The Tornasol Affair", the boutique that sells articles related to his characters and a stroll through the Saint Hubert Galleries, which have a special relationship with Hergé, the creator of these comic strips.

Finally, you can admire the incredible Smurfs' Passage, a giant mosaic that adorns the ceiling of a tunnel in the Putterie district. A must-see piece of street art for tourists, it will show you just how big these characters have become.
