On this tour you will have the opportunity to travel from Cairo to Alexandria, in an activity that lasts about 12 hours . In case you choose the option of being accompanied by an expert guide, you will have the opportunity to learn about the culture of the city, known for its vast history and cultural heritage.

Some of the places you will visit during the tour are the following:

  • Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa: This is a set of underground tombs dating back to the 2nd century A.D. They were discovered by chance in 1900 when a donkey fell through a hole in the ground. The catacombs contain 3 levels carved into the rock and are decorated with Greek and Roman motifs as well as Egyptian elements. It is considered one of the seven wonders of medieval times.
  • Bibliotheca Alexandrina: It is a library and cultural institution located in the city of Alexandria, Egypt. It was inaugurated in 2002 and is built on the same site as the ancient Library of Alexandria, which was one of the largest and most important libraries of the ancient world. The modern library houses more than 8 million books and has a large collection of manuscripts, maps, photographs and other materials.
  • Fort Qaitbey in Alexandria: You will pass this fortress located on the coast of Alexandria, Egypt. It was built in the 15th century by the Mamluk Sultan Qaitbey to protect the city from naval attacks.
  • Roman Amphitheatre of Alexandria: An amphitheatre built in the 2nd century AD. It has a capacity of approximately 12,000 spectators and was used for public performances and games. It is one of the few known Roman amphitheatres in Egypt.

Built in the 4th century BC, the city was named after its founder, Alexander the Great, who in the course of his campaigns founded as many as 50 cities of this name. Throughout its more than 2,000 years of existence, the city has been home to Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Turks and Britons, which is reflected in the city's extensive cultural and archaeological heritage.

    Great tour, excellent for avoiding delays and getting to know Alexandria in its maximum depth. I have to admit that the tour was quite tiring due to its long duration, but it was worth it. Recommended to do it once.
