Step by Step

Lyon City Card is a card that allows you to better organise your holiday. When booking, you can choose from four options: 24, 48, 72 or 96 hours. Once activated, you can use it for the indicated period of time and enjoy museums, attractions, shows and activities. If they are not completely free, you will be entitled to a discount.

The Lyon City Card is a physical card that can be collected at one or more points in the city centre on presentation of proof of purchase. As for the attractions, the list below brings together the main ones:

  • Museum of Confluences (Musée des Confluences) - An attractive and immersive space that tells the story of the world and human evolution. It is housed in a futuristic glass and steel construction.
  • River cruise (Les Bateaux Lyonnais and Bateau-Restaurant Hermès) - A river cruise that allows you to admire the main monuments of the city with explanations of its history. You can choose a simple cruise or one with lunch/dinner.
  • Gallo-Roman Fourvière Museum (Musée gallo-romain de Fourvière) - Located on the hillside of Fourvière, it contains jewellery, everyday objects, mosaics and other relics from the Roman and Gallic eras.
  • Cycle tour - The cycle paths and pedestrian centre are ideal for cycling, especially along the banks of the two rivers that cross the city: the Rhône and the Saône.
  • Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière - Built at the end of the 19th century, it is characterised by its architectural mix of Romanesque and Byzantine elements. From its roof you can enjoy an unbeatable view over the old town.
  • Théâtre des Célestins (Théâtre de Célestins) - One of the oldest theatres in France, its Italian-style architecture was designed by Gaspard André.

As an added bonus, you can move freely around the city using public transport. Note that Lyon has four metro lines, buses, seven tram lines and a funicular system integrated into the metro.
