Step by Step
Discover first-hand why French croissants are a favourite. Bring your family or friends to this cooking class taught by a master pastry chef in a traditional Parisian bakery.
If you consider yourself a foodie, this class is for you. For approximately two hours, you will prepare your own pastries while learning where French pastries are famous for from an expert pastry chef.
In a small group of about 9 people, you'll all be close to the master as you make your sweets. At his work table, he will tell you about the types of flour and their quantities, so that you too can bake a baguette or a pain au chocolat. The master will explain the importance of the ingredients, how the mixtures are decided and how they are prepared to make the most of their flavour and texture.
He will also show you the French kneading techniques and the care involved in the baking process. And being in a professional oven, he will also show you the machinery they use every morning to prepare the products they will sell that day.
Finally, at the end of your visit, you'll be able to take home a delicious freshly baked baguette.
This activity is ideal if you go with children: getting dirty is more than allowed, and they'll have a lot of fun playing at being bakers in a real bakery, because while you're in the oven baking they'll also be able to see how the bakery team dispatches customers.
