Pisa Cathedral is one of the jewels in the city's crown. Located in the Piazza dei Miracoli, where you can stroll around, it is the episcopal see of Pisa and stands out as a reference of Pisan Romanesque art. It was built in dedication to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and, in 1987, the heritage complex was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
On the other hand, there is the Baptistery of Pisa, dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and is the largest baptistery in the world. It is also in Pisan Romanesque style and is located in Piazza dei Miracoli. Its main raw material was marble and as time went by, ornamental resources typical of the flowery Gothic style were incorporated.
Should you decide to extend the experience, you will enter the world famous Leaning Tower. The marshy subsoil means that the ground tends to deform and move, causing the tower to lean. It is one of the jewels of Romanesque art and is 60 metres high.
