Step by Step
This private experience is particularly suitable for food lovers. You will enter the home of a local who will prepare a full menu (starter, main course, main course and dessert) before your eyes. During lunch (or dinner), you will also be able to taste local wines and enjoy a cup of coffee at the end of the meal. The activity lasts about 2 hours and a half.
Piedmontese cuisine is influenced both by popular tradition and by the refined recipes of the ruling house. It is not the most famous on the peninsula, but it has delicious recipes made with top quality ingredients, such as:
- Tomini al verde: tomino is a typical cheese from Piedmont. In this version, it is sliced and seasoned with a sauce based on oil, parsley, capers, anchovies and garlic.
- Bagna càuda: a very tasty sauce based on anchovies, garlic and olive oil. It is served hot and accompanied by fresh and cooked vegetables.
- Agnolotti del plin: delicious pasta stuffed with roast or stewed meat. It is usually served with butter and sage.
- Panissa: a risotto with fresh beans and salame della duja, a sausage matured in lard.
- Fritto misto alla piemontese: a special fried dish, which mixes savoury and sweet. It is prepared using liver, sweetbreads, sausages, amaretti and vegetables.
- Vitello tonnato: thinly sliced cooked veal served with tonnata sauce (based on tuna, anchovies, egg yolks, capers, cooking juices and lemon juice).
- Bonet: a dessert made with eggs, cocoa, coffee and amaretti biscuits.
The menu is illustrative, as it depends on the host and is linked to their family recipes. The event also includes wines, another source of pride for Piedmont. The region is famous for wines such as Barbera d'Asti, Barolo, Dolcetto and Barbaresco.
