Step by Step

Feel like an authentic Mexican thanks to this 1-day tour where you will experience the Day of the Dead in Mexico City. Throughout the approximately 8-hour experience, you will move around the city with transfers already included in the experience. Please note that this tour only takes place once a year on the Day of the Dead, i.e. the 1st of November.

During this time you will always be accompanied by a tour guide. He will be in charge of telling you about all the traditions and customs of this holiday, as well as answering any questions you may have. He or she will also take you to the most traditional places related to the festival.

To experience this festival in an authentic way, the first thing you'll do is enter a cemetery after dark where you'll see how the dead are honoured, making their return to the world as satisfying as possible.

On the other hand, you will get on a Trajinera, a traditional boat, which will take you through the canals of Xochimilco. These traditional canals will be full of decorations that will make your day more special.

At the end of this tour you will head to the floating gardens known as Chinampas. Here you will spend your time singing and dancing to the sound of Mexican music. Not forgetting that you will witness a performance of "La Llorona" together with authentic Mariachis.

Although the name is misleading, the Day of the Dead is a holiday. It is a different way of looking at death, I was pleased to learn about it. It's a great way to get a deeper insight into what Mexico is really about.
