The Van Gogh Museum houses the most complete collection of the artist's most inspiring evolution, works, paintings and still lifes such as:
- Self-portrait with grey felt hat: one of his most famous self-portraits, which has become a Van Gogh trademark.
- Skull with a Cigarette: understood as a form of mockery of death. Van Gogh intended to detract a sense of seriousness from something that is monumental in life.
- Almond Blossom: was created in honour of his nephew and its style has the oriental influence that the artist admired so much.
You will also find works that highlight other contemporary artists such as the post-impressionist painter Gauguin and the French impressionist painter Monet.
