Step by Step
Delve into the heart of Portugal with this nine-hour tour of some of the country's highlights. From the comfort of an air-conditioned minivan that will pick you and your group up in Lisbon, visit the villages of Fátima, Nazaré and Óbidos, located approximately 90 minutes from the capital.
In Fátima, you can visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fátima. There, more than a century ago, the Virgin Mary appeared to Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco, three local shepherd children. Now, in the same place stands one of the Catholic temples that receives the most visitors every year.
In Nazaré you will discover the charm of this fishing village, with a wide variety of restaurants and cafés. It has one of the most spectacular beaches in Portugal, and one of the most sought-after by its citizens. There you will be able to contemplate luxurious views of the sea, thanks to its cliffs.
You can also visit the Batalha Monastery, a religious building built in the 14th century, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You will be able to enjoy a rich artistic heritage dating from the end of the 14th century. You will also have access to the royal tomb in the Basilica's Founder's Chapel, where King John I, Queen Felipa of Lancaster and her son Prince Henry the Navigator were buried.
The village of Óbidos will transport you back to medieval times. It is commonly known in Portugal as "the wedding gift village", as it was a gift from King Dinis to Queen Isabella on their wedding day in 1282. You can explore the medieval fortress, its colourful houses and Gothic arches and windows, decorated with vases and dazzling tiles, and taste the ginja liqueur, one of the country's official cherry-based drinks, in one of its many wine bars.
