Did you know that this incredible house was restored by Gaudí in the early 20th century? Originally built at the end of the 19th century, it was acquired by Josep Batlló, a wealthy textile entrepreneur. Batlló initially wanted to demolish it! But Gaudí, with his genius, convinced him to renovate it instead of destroying it. Thanks to that decision, today you can enjoy this jewel, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This impressive building is located on the luxurious Passeig de Gràcia avenue in Barcelona. But it is not alone in its Modernista splendour. Next to it, you'll find Casa Amatller by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, Casa Lleó Morera by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, Casa Mulleras by Enric Sagnier and Casa Josefina Bonet by Marcel-li Coquillat. Want more Gaudí? About 500 metres away is another of his masterpieces: La Pedrera.
