Step by Step

Visit the main medieval villages of the Costa Brava with this 1-day excursion. The experience lasts approximately 8 hours and you will always be accompanied by a local tour guide. All journeys in an air-conditioned vehicle are included, and if your hotel is in Girona, you will also be picked up and returned directly to the door.

The groups for this experience are small, approximately 7 people per tour. This way, the tour guide can provide a more personalised experience for each attendee. This guide will be in charge of telling you about the history and important monuments at each stop.

Many villages will be visited, some where you will be able to have a more focused experience on local commerce such as pottery shops, while others will be more cultural. In these medieval villages you will see everything from Casas de Indianos, to a 16th century castle, to great walls and ancient lighthouses.

The best known and most important villages you will visit are Begur with its castle and defensive towers, Peratallada which still has a palace inside and Llafranc with the historic lighthouse of Sant Sebastià.

Although lunch is not included in this excursion, you will have free time to discover for yourself the local cuisine and the best restaurants. Being close to the sea, you will be able to find high quality fish and seafood dishes.

The tour was very organised and very entertaining. At no time were we ever left thinking about the clouds as the guide always focused on making sure we appreciated the best views of the place.

The guide seemed to be tired as he was doing the tour as if by inertia, he didn't have that special charisma that tour guides have. Despite this, the views of the city were beautiful.

I expected the views to be more "medieval", but they were still beautiful.
