This activity consists of a private excursion to the Janubio Salt Flats in Lanzarote, one of the most emblematic places of the island. The professional guide who will go with you will tell you the history of the most extensive salt flats of Lanzarote, created by volcanic eruptions. Its original hydraulic systems make it one of the most outstanding sites on the island.

The approximate duration of this excursion is one and a half hours. The experience also includes a tasting of Flor de Sal and Sabores de Janubio. The antiquity of the salt activity in Lanzarote, as well as its architectural, cultural and landscape richness have led them to be declared a protected natural area.

The Janubio salt flats are located in the municipality of Yaiza, Lanzarote. They are the largest in the Canary Islands and are located in a lagoon created by volcanic eruptions. They have also been declared a Site of Scientific Interest and are home to migratory water birds.

It is a perfect place to watch the sunset. When the sun sets, it begins to be reflected in the pools where a spectacle of colours and shades of enormous beauty begins to appear.

You will also be able to taste the Flor de sal, a marine type of salt that is collected manually, without going through industrial processes. It has a very characteristic flavour and is highly appreciated in haute cuisine. You can also try the Sabores de Janubio, a product that combines Janubio sea salt with red mojo, chimichurri or Canarian marinade.
