Step by Step

A sightseeing boat is the perfect means of transport to visit the Thai capital. You'll avoid traffic jams and easily reach the most famous attractions. This ticket is valid for one day and allows you to hop on and off wherever you want and as many times as you want. Once on board, you can listen to recorded explanations over the loudspeaker to learn more about the local history.

The river cruise departs from Sathorn Pier - there are 11 stops in total - and the list below lists the main attractions:

  • Asiatique The Riverfront - A marketplace built in a completely modernised former industrial area. Its highlight is the Asiatique Sky, Thailand's tallest Ferris wheel.
  • ICONSIAM - The city's most modern and interesting shopping centre. The ground floor reproduces a typical Thai village with its floating market. On the upper floors there are luxury shops and restaurants overlooking the river.
  • Chinatown - Chinatown is a popular destination for both shopping and dining. Famous open-air markets include Nakom Kasem and Sampeng Lane.
  • Wat Arun - Also known as the "Temple of Dawn", it is recognisable by its tall central tower decorated with glazed porcelain. It consists of several inter-connected religious buildings built at different times.
  • Wat Pho - The Temple of the Reclining Buddha, built in the late 18th century.
  • Wat Phra Kaew - One of the holiest Buddhist temples in the country. Inside is a famous statue of the Emerald Buddha. It is located in the centre of the city, but once you pass through the entrance you will appreciate the peace of the place.
  • Khao San Road - A tourist district, known mainly for its nightlife and street food stalls.

In addition to the monuments, the boat stops close to important communication hubs: metro stations, trains and bus stops.

The audio guide was very interesting, although it is in English, it is very easy to understand and is a very good complement to the tour.

This way along the Chao Phraya River is a MUST! At a very good price and with great ease to go up and down to different tourist spots at your own leisure.

We had a very good day. I went with my girlfriend and her two children and the four of us really enjoyed the experience. It saved us a lot of time and touring the city from the river was great.
