Step by Step

Glasgow is known for its street art, which has helped to revitalise the city and fill its neighbourhoods with colour. This urban itinerary allows you to discover the most famous murals, which are mainly concentrated on the City Centre Mural Trail. The activity lasts about an hour and a half and includes an expert guide .

Many of the graffiti that dot Glasgow's streets were promoted by the city council in preparation for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, while others are the result of the local and international art scene. Among the most prominent are the following:

  • "The World's Most Economic Taxi": depicts the typical British "cab" suspended in the air by the action of numerous coloured balloons. It is located on the narrow Mitchell Street and is signed by local artist Rogue-One.
  • "St Mungo's: the contemporary reinterpretation of the city's saint. He is believed to be the founder of Glasgow and is still widely revered.
  • "Argyle Street Café': this long wall depicts the interior of a bar, whose customers are animals. The work is signed by Australian artist Smug.
  • "Tennents Caledonian Breweries": the walls of the Tennent's brewery are decorated with dozens of beer-themed murals.
  • "Charles Rennie Mackintosh": mural dedicated to the architect and painter of the same name, most famous for designing the Glasgow School of Art.

This is an activity not to be missed, allowing you to get to know the work of street artists while you walk around the city and delve into the art of graffiti.
