After booking and enjoying a Harry Potter tour of London, there's no better way to end this magical adventure than by visiting the Harry Potter shops in the city, where you can buy that Harry Potter souvenir you've been dreaming of adding to your collection - take note, there are plenty of them!

1. Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 ¾, the Kings Cross Station Shop

After booking a Harry Potter tour of London, you must visit this shop located next to the famous Platform 9 and ¾ at Kings Cross Station. So if you've forgotten to grab your potions book before catching the Hogwarts Express, you can always pop into the Kings Cross shop for a quick purchase. The idea to open one of the Harry Potter shops in London next to platform 9 and ¾ at Kings Cross station was born out of the large number of visitors who came here to see one of the London locations featured in the films.

The Harry Potter trolley belongs to the shop and the staff organise the queue so that you can have your photograph taken by pushing it onto the platform. They put a Hogwarts scarf on you and throw it in the air to add a sense of reality to the moment. You can then buy that professional style photograph.

The interior design of the Harry Potter shop in Kings Cross is inspired by Ollivander's shop in the novels. The decor is the best! This shop has an exclusive collection created for it that you won't find in any of the other Harry Potter shops in London - all the more reason to come here!

  • Address: Euston Rd, London N1 9AL, UK.
  • How to get there: By tube, Circle, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines.

2. House of Minalima, an art gallery and magical shop

In Soho you'll find another of the coolest Harry Potter shops in London known as House of Minalima. This is an art gallery specialising in graphic design and its main exhibition focuses on the magical universe of Hogwarts.

Artists Eduardo Lima and Miraphora Mira worked on the Potter films and were responsible for the design of many of the items that appeared on the big screen, such as the 'Weasley's Sorceries', the covers of the 'Daily Prophet' and the chocolate frogs, among others. An ideal visit after a bus tour of the Harry Potter locations.

I recommend a visit to House of Minalima on a weekday to peruse the free Harry Potter exhibition (it's usually packed at weekends) and then take advantage of the visit to buy a unique souvenir designed by these artists about the young wizard's magical universe.

  • Address: 157 Wardour St, London W1F 8WQ, UK.
  • How to get there: By tube, Piccadilly Circus station, Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines.

Also in Soho you can visit another of the most fascinating Harry Potter shops in London: House of Spells. Its decoration and atmosphere is very much in line with the shops that appear in the wizard's films, so entering it feels as if you were in one of the shops in the famous Diagon Alley. It's amazing!

As for the products sold in House of Spells you can find all kinds of things related to the Harry Potter universe (wands, magic books, uniforms, figurines of the characters, sweets, toys and a long etcetera) but also about other fantasy sagas such as Game of Thrones, Frozen, Star Wars or The Lord of the Rings, among many others.

If you love collecting items from your favourite books and films, you should definitely stop by House of Spells after enjoying the Harry Potter location tour- you'll be there for hours! You'll find it just a few minutes' walk from Leicester Square tube station.

  • Address: 69-71 Charing Cross Rd, London WC2H 0NE, UK.
  • How to get there: By tube, Leicester Square station, Northern and Piccadilly lines.

4. The Official Harry Potter Shop and a visit to Warner Bros Studios

One of the most fun experiences you can have in London as a Potterhead is to book tickets to the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Park- it's amazing! During your visit to the Warner Bros. Studios you'll be able to pop into several different shops where you can buy souvenirs related to the wizarding world:

  • The Studio Shop: where you'll see personalised t-shirts, Hogwarts scarves and uniforms, wand replicas, Quidditch flags or cuddly toys, among other things.
  • The Forbidden Forest Shop: where you can buy products related to this mysterious place in Hogwarts and the creepy creatures that inhabited it.
  • The Railway Shop: where you can buy some magical treats such as chocolate frogs, liquorice wands and peppermint toads to eat on the journey back to London.

A trip to the official Harry Potter Studios Park shops is part of the experience in itself. They're beautifully decorated and you'll find lots of original merchandise that you won't find in other shops. For example, in addition to typical Harry Potter merchandise, the official Warner Bros. Studios shop also sells beautiful artwork and exclusive editions for those collectors looking for a more special and unique souvenir.

In my opinion it is a fabulous shop to expand your Harry Potter collection and buy some gifts due to the wide variety of items. However, in order to access this place it is essential to have a ticket to Harry Potter Studios Park and if you don't plan your trip well in advance it is not easy to buy them because the demand is very high and tickets end up flying like Hedwig. In the post Harry Potter tickets resale in London I explain what you can do to get official tickets with all the guarantees.

  • Address: Studio Tour Dr, Leavesden, Watford WD25 7LR, UK.
  • How to get there: By train, Watford Junction station.

5. Harry Potter Primark in London

Although almost every Primark in the world has a small section dedicated to the Harry Potter universe, the Oxford Street Primark has become one of the most unofficial Harry Potter shops in the world.

Unlike the company's other shopping centres, the Oxford Street Primark has a huge section packed with products from J.K. Rowling's novels, and after booking a Harry Potter tour of London you'll get the itch to pop in and find just about anything you can think of. From slippers, plushies and backpacks, to stationery, homewares and Hogwarts-inspired clothing,

Primark is probably one of the Harry Potter shops in London where you can buy souvenirs at bargain prices. The downside is that, not being an official supplier, some of the product designs are a little rough around the edges, but who cares about that when you can take home those cool Gryffindor pyjamas for so little money?

  • Address: 14-28 Oxford St, London W1D 1AU, UK.
  • How to get there: By tube, Tottenham Court Road station, Central and Northern lines.

This toy shop on Regent's Street is one of the oldest toy shops in the city, dating back over 250 years. A multi-storey shop where you can admire thousands of toys and an exclusive area dedicated to the Harry Potter saga, Hamleys is so much fun you won't want to leave!

I recommend that after enjoying the Harry Potter tour, you take a walk around the entire toy shop, as there are some very curious items. But especially in the section dedicated to the young wizard, as there are lots of things on display on the shelves that will tempt you. From the main character's glasses and wand, the golden snitch, Tom Riddle's diary and the Marauder's map to board games, mugs, cuddly toys and key rings inspired by Hogwarts.

Whether it's because it's one of the oldest toy shops in the city or because you're a big fan of the Harry Potter saga, Hamleys is always worth a visit. Especially if you are travelling to London with your family because the kids will have a great time in such a big toy shop, and they will have a great time!

  • How to get there: By tube, Piccadilly Circus station, Bakerloo and Piccadilly lines.

The Lego Store in Leicester Square, the largest in the world, is a must on a list of Harry Potter shops in London! Take the opportunity to stop by after enjoying your ticket to the Harry Potter Studios Park.

Just to admire the Lego constructions in the shop is worth the visit, but they also have a large section dedicated to the magical universe created by the writer J.K. Rowling with the brand's own touch.

As well as being able to buy Hogwarts Castle and the Hogwarts Express, Hagrid's hut, Diagon Alley and the Astronomy Tower among other toys from the Harry Potter collection, you can also see replicas of some of London' s most iconic tourist attractions such as the typical red telephone box, Big Ben and a tube carriage. It will be difficult to get just one toy from here because they're all pretty cool!
