Step by Step

If you want to learn about the history of World War II London, this is your chance. With this walking tour, which includes entry to the Winston Churchill War Rooms, you'll learn the ins and outs of this period in the UK from an expert guide. This tour is designed to take around 2.5 hours to complete in groups of around 25 people. If you want to do it alone with your companions, you can opt for a private tour when you book.

In the Churchill War Rooms you will be able to learn all the anecdotes and stories that took place there thanks to an audio guide. The British Prime Minister was one of the protagonists and took refuge in this network of underground bunkers during the Second World War. As part of the tour takes place underground and in an enclosed space, it is not recommended for people who suffer from claustrophobia.

Throughout the museum, you will see five sections corresponding to five stages of Winston Churchill's life: from his childhood to his early years as prime minister . During the audio-guided tour, you will discover what Churchill's life was like in the bunker. You will also visit the war cabinet room, which includes the map room and the transatlantic call room.

Back above ground, the tour continues with your guide through Westminster, one of London's most iconic areas. You will pass the famous Westminster Abbey and Big Ben. At both places you will have the possibility to take some pictures for your memories.

As it is a walking tour it seems to be a long one, but the whole visit is very enjoyable and passes quickly. The audio guide also allows you to relax a bit and see things at your own pace, which are very interesting indeed.
