Step by Step

This activity allows you to drive through Acadia National Park in your own car, following the instructions of an audio guide that you can download to your phone or tablet. The itinerary takes about 2 to 3 hours, but the schedule is completely flexible. You can use the app on any day and if you return to Canada at a later time, you can use it again without any problems. There is no expiry date.

It doesn't need an internet connection to work and, thanks to geolocation, the audio guide explanations start on their own, allowing you to concentrate on driving and enjoying the scenery. Listed below are the main points of interest you'll see along the route:

  • Hulls Cove Visitor Center - The starting point of the tour. Here you will find park rangers and useful information about the surrounding nature. The building also has a toilet.
  • Sieur de Monts Spring - A spring with a small house. Around it there are easy trails of various lengths, ideal for bird watching. It is considered the cradle of this natural park.
  • Egg Rock Overlook - Overlook overlooking Frenchman Bay. In the middle of the bay is an island with a small lighthouse. Built in 1875, it has been battered by the sea several times.
  • Ocean Path Trailhead - The scenic route along the ocean. The perfect spot to watch the waves crash against the rocks.
  • Cadillac Mountain - The highest peak in this nature reserve. From the summit, the scenery is unbeatable.

The hike can be done at different times of the year, but is subject to weather conditions.
