Step by Step

Explore Boston's history as you take a guided food tour of the city. For approximately 5 hours you will walk through the North End neighbourhood to the Freedom Trail.

The activity will be led by a local guide who will narrate the events and anecdotes from the past of each area visited. At the same time you will enjoy a variety of meals at the different stops included in the tour.

  • North End: you will embark on a walk through a seaside village to the centre of North End. You'll sample fresh bread at an Italian bakery, meats and cheeses at an Italian salumeria, and delicious coffee typical of the European country.
  • Old North Church & Historic Site: discover the events of the town including Paul Revere's Midnight Ride. Enter the Old North Church and see the sacred walls.
  • Rose Kennedy Greenway: try pizza at one of the locals' favourite restaurants and delicious Italian pastries. Stroll through some of the city's most important markets and areas.
  • Marriott's Custom House: visit the city's first skyscraper called the Custom House Tower.
  • Faneuil Hall Marketplace: a famous shopping market that houses well-known shops and restaurants.
  • Quincy Market: one of Boston's traditional markets that brings together history, food and commerce.
  • Old State House: the oldest building in the city, built in 1713 in the Gothic style.
  • Downtown Crossing: one of the famous underground lines where you will take a short walk.
  • Old City Hall: formerly the city's city hall and one of the earliest buildings influenced by French Second Empire architecture.
  • Massachusetts State House: enter Boston's capitol with its striking federal-style architecture.
  • Boston Public Garden: one of the most renowned parks in the city, where important historical events have taken place, such as the creation of the first military organisation in North America.

    It was a historical experience, I enjoyed being able to see the oldest part of the city with my wife as we both love to learn about the past, my favourite part was seeing the first public school in America and my wife's was seeing Boston's first public park.
