Step by Step
A small plane ride is the perfect way to admire Maui's natural beauty from a new perspective. The tour departs from Kahului Airport and includes an experienced pilot, who will entertain you with commentary and anecdotes. This is a private activity with only you and your companions and lasts approximately one and a half hours.
The activity also includes water, drinks and a pair of helmets to listen to the pilot's explanations. Once on board, you will fly over the following attractions:
- Nakalele Blowhole - A curious hole from which seawater gushes out, creating a geyser-like jet.
- Honolua Bay - A wind-sheltered stretch of sea, with often calm and clear waters. Parrotfish, dolphins, Moorish idols and dozens of other species live here.
- Lanai - An urban centre that grew up around pineapple cultivation. It is the smallest inhabited island in Hawaii
- Molokini Crater - A volcanic island with a unique crescent shape. Thanks to its coral reef, it is a popular destination for snorkelling and scuba diving.
- Wailea Beach - Known for winning the award for "one of the best beaches in the world" back in 1999.
- Makena State Park - A large protected area enclosing the Pu'u Ola'i volcanic cone, crystal-clear waters and pristine Big Beach
- Lava Fields - Magna solidified at the ocean's edge
- Kamaole Beach Park - Popular equipped beach, known mostly for its fine sand. It is also home to a large colony of sea turtles.
- Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum - The cultural institution that revives the island's sugar past. It is located within a small sugar cane-producing community in Puʻunene.
In Hawaii, the weather changes rapidly, but cancellations are rare. In the event of bad weather, take-off is usually postponed. As a general rule, it is advisable to eat shortly before the flight.
