Step by Step
This tour lasts approximately 9 hours and delves into Hawaiian history and culture. In particular, you will visit the third island of the archipelago: Oahu. The trip takes place in a luxury bus and you will be accompanied by a local guide. In general, the itinerary touches on the following places and attractions:
- Diamond Head - A large protected area featuring a volcanic tuff cone. It is the ideal destination for hikers. To reach the park, the bus passes through Kahala, an upscale Honolulu suburb.
- Hanauma Bay - Marine nature reserve with a distinctive crescent shape. In 2016 it was voted best beach in the USA.
- Halona Blowhole - A crack in the rocks by the ocean that creates an impressive geyser effect.
- Nu'uanu Pali - Scenic balcony overlooking the coastline.
- Byodo-In Temple - Typical Japanese temple, with a large golden Buddha and surrounded by a lush garden. It was built for the large Rising Sun community living on the island.
- Tropical Farms - The Macadamia Nut Farm Outlet - A shop offering one of Hawaii's typical products: macadamia nuts. It is a very tasty nut that prefers the mineral-rich soils of the tropical and subtropical forests.
- Haleiwa - A Mecca for surfing enthusiasts, who find the best waves here. It is also famous for its shark-proof cage diving. The township is part of the famous North Shore. Lunch is not included in the tour, but there are plenty of restaurants and bars here.
- Dole Plantation - A plantation created by James Drummond Dole, the man who made Hawaii a major world producer of pineapple. You'll also see bananas, sugar cane, papaya, coffee and other plants.
The bus will drop you off in downtown Honolulu. The area encompasses the city's main attractions, such as the Kawaiaha'o Church, the Liliuokalani Botanical Garden and the Izumo Taishakyo Mission of Hawaii Shinto Temple.
