Step by Step

San Diego by night is even more evocative and by choosing this tour you can discover its most famous sights. You will be accompanied by an expert guide who will tell you anecdotes about the history of the Californian city. The tour lasts about an hour and a half and passes close to the following attractions:

  • Gaslamp Quarter - San Diego's most dynamic and cosmopolitan neighbourhood. Formerly known as New Town, it adopted its present name in the late 19th century when 50 Gaslamp lampposts were installed. It is most famous for its nightlife.
  • Balboa Park - The city's most attractive green space. In addition to the gardens, it houses museums, the Spanish Village Art Center and even a zoological garden. At night, the lights make it even more fascinating.
  • Coronado Bridge - The iconic bridge designed by architect Robert Mosher. It is about 2 miles long and has an 80º curvature.
  • The Coronado Ferry Landing - The Coronado FerryLanding. It is scheduled to take approximately 20 minutes.
  • Little Italy - The neighbourhood historically linked to Italian immigration and the fishing industry. Today it is a lively area, with numerous restaurants and squares where social life takes place.
  • Star of India - One of the most beautiful ships in the Maritime Museum. It is a spectacular sailing ship inaugurated in 1863 and with a long history of commercial expeditions to all parts of the world.
  • USS Midway Museum - Colossal US Navy aircraft carrier turned museum. On board you can discover how famous military operations were conducted, use a flight simulator and much more.

The tour is easy to do and, in summer, allows you to cross San Diego avoiding the hottest hours. In any case, I recommend you wear comfortable shoes and clothes.
