Step by Step

During this 2-hour tour you will learn about the history of some of the city's most illustrious citizens who were buried at Bonaventure. You'll tour the cemetery's gravestones accompanied by an expert guide, who will tell you all about the paranormal history of the site.

Savannah is one of the most historically significant cities in the United States. It is known for its pre-war architecture, cobblestone historic district and well-kept parks. But it is also famous for being considered one of the most haunted cities in the country .

Savannah is said to be a 'city built on the dead' as it was built on a Native American burial ground. The Bonaventure Cemetery, more than 100 years old, is one of the oldest in the city. The site where the cemetery stands today was also once a landowner's estate and served as a hospital during the Revolutionary War .

Under the oak trees and azaleas of the cemetery, you will learn the stories of people like Little Gracie, the poet Conrad Aiken or the 4 Oscar-winning composer Johnny Mercer . You can also stroll through the lush vegetation of the site and admire the carvings of the statues that flood Bonaventure .
