Step by Step

Walk through the streets of the central-eastern area of the city of San Luis thanks to this tour. San Luis stands out for being a city where Europeans settled more than 5 centuries ago. Because of this, nowadays you can still find remains of their culture and civilization that coexist with the most famous constructions from the 20th century.

During the whole tour, which lasts about 2.5 hours, you will be accompanied by a tour guide. Thanks to him you will learn all kinds of anecdotes, events and the history of the city since its foundation. The tours are also designed for small groups of about 15 people per group.

Some of the things you will learn will be related to the trade network that the French established thanks to the St. Louis River, the famous Mississippi. With them, they also brought different architectural styles still visible in various buildings. Along with this older part of the city, you will also see 20th century skyscrapers and other works of engineering.

The most iconic landmarks you will see are:

  • Old Courthouse: one of the first courthouses built in Missouri.
  • Gateway Arch: an incredible work of engineering depicted in the form of a 200-metre high arch.
  • Old Cathedral: a French cathedral built in 1764
  • Eads Bridge: the iconic bridge spanning the Mississippi River

The experience was very positive during the whole tour. A pity the weather was not on our side that day and we had to cut off earlier than planned.
