Step by Step

Make the most of this beer tour in Toronto. In an activity that lasts about four hours and for small groups of about 12 people, a local guide will accompany you at all times during this walking tour of Toronto's Old Town. You will have the opportunity to do a beer tasting and visit different beer-related sites, such as typical beer bars.

Toronto has a long history with beer. It is said that Toronto's first brewery opened its doors in the 19th century. When the brewery opened, all beers were imported from Kingston, but Henderson, who laid the foundation stone for the brewery, saw it as an opportunity to brew local Toronto beers.

That's why there's so much local beer culture in Toronto, a perfect opportunity for you to try them during the tour. In fact, you'll visit at least three typical pubs in Toronto's Old Town, where the first breweries were erected in the city, to sample a beer in each of them. Some of these pubs could be the popular Mill Street Brewery, Classic Old Tavern or Bar Volo.

Then, another stop you will have during this tour will be St. Lawrence Market. This place is the culinary hub of Toronto. It's a place to mingle, share stories and, of course, taste and discover good beer.

You'll also stop at another place where beer is also a symbol: the Distillery District. It's known for its cobblestone streets, Victorian industrial architecture and for being one of the city's hubs for art, culture and events.

Beyond the beer and its influence on Toronto's history, there are several places of interest to visit on the tour. What I liked the most was St. Lawrence Market, a wonderful place, and the Distillery District is a must if you go to Toronto.
