Step by Step

This ticket will open the doors of the Wine Museum, which traces the history of wine and explores the varieties of the Rhône Valley. The visit takes place along a route with interactive scenographies and you will have an audio guide at your disposal throughout the tour. The activity lasts a maximum of 2 hours and ends with a tasting of 3 wines.

The Brotte Wine Museum was founded in 1972 and occupies a surface area of 500 m2. The interior space is divided into five different rooms focusing mainly - but not exclusively - on Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The local variety is obtained by blending 13 different varieties. Grenache predominates, but Syrah, Cinsault and other varieties also make their contribution.

Both white and red wines are produced here, although the latter is the most common. During the tasting, you will be able to appreciate the terroir of the wine, an expression that identifies the combination of soil, climate and human factors. The mix of these three factors determines its personality.

The Brotte Wine Museum is located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a small town in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. In addition to its wine-making tradition, it is best known for its château, which was the summer residence of Pope John XXII. The ticket does not include transport to and from Avignon, so you will have to get there on your own, either by car (the journey takes about half an hour) or by one of the buses that leave from Avignon's central station.

The activity is accessible to everyone, but it is recommended to wear comfortable shoes and clothes, especially if you want to take advantage of the excursion to visit the town or the surrounding areas.
