Step by Step

With the entrance ticket to the Picasso Museum in Barcelona you can go directly to see the more than 4000 exhibits without queuing.

Enjoy an audio-guided tour where you will have the opportunity to learn about the history of Picasso and important works such as:

  • Las Meninas: made up of 59 paintings, they are based on the famous "Meninas" created by Velázquez.
  • Science and Clarity: with this work he won the Gold Medal at the Provincial Exhibition in Malaga and an honourable mention at the General Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid.
  • La espera (Margot) (Waiting (Margot): shows night life in Paris through a woman, apparently a prostitute. A work with a pointillist tendency.

The museum was inaugurated by Jaime Sabartés, one of Picasso's closest friends, who was the first to exhibit the artist's works. When Sabartés died, Picasso made a donation of approximately 900 works to the museum.

The ticket also includes free self-guided tours of Barcelona via a mobile app, for example, you can take a walk through El Born, one of the city's most prominent neighbourhoods where the museum is located.

The tour of the museum was good, I really went to learn a bit more about the artist, but I don't understand much about Picasso's works. Still, the museum is very good. They are contributions to the general culture.
