Step by Step
Don't miss out on this day trip where you will visit Laura's plantations and Houmas House in detail and with all kinds of experiences. Firstly, pick-up and drop-off in an air-conditioned vehicle directly at the door of your hotel is included. The same vehicle will also be used for all other transfers on the tour.
The groups are small, usually around 13 people. This means that you can visit the areas in complete tranquillity, without too much noise from the other participants and in a comfortable way to move around.
The tour lasts approximately 9 hours and includes a gourmet lunch prepared at Houmas House itself. You will be able to visit it as well, and the same goes for Casa Laura. Secondly, a number of experiences are also included, such as airboat tours of the area or guided tours inside the plantations.
On this tour you will visit the plantations themselves, where generations of slaves worked for years. You will learn the stories of the families they worked for. You will get all this information from a tour guide who will accompany you.
These plantations are located in swampy terrain, so this experience also includes an airboat tour. With this small boat propelled by a large propeller, you'll get a detailed look at the area surrounding the plantations and the natural environment.
