At 171 metres high, Reunion Tower is one of Dallas' landmarks. Forget vertigo and climb to the top of this magnificent building. The best views (and photographs) of the city await you there.

Its top, the GeO-Deck observation deck, is an observation deck with a covered and an open-air part that will give you a 360º view. You can also learn much more about the city thanks to its interactive exhibitions. I recommend it as a starting point for exploring Dallas.

No matter how you look at it, you'll feel small as you walk around AT&T Stadium, its locker rooms, its press room and, of course, its pitch. But if you want to feel something really impressive, imagine the atmosphere when there's a game on. And not just National Football League games, it also hosts concerts and competitions of all kinds.

There are many ways to discover Dallas, but one of the most charming is aboard an old tram. The M line was built more than a century ago and today offers a nostalgic ride through downtown.

You can travel from the West Village to the Arts District, via McKinney Square, the Museum of Art, the Nasher Museum and Klyde Warren Park. Best of all, the tour is free!

53. Visit the Zoo

Seeing wild and exotic animals up close is always a good plan. In Dallas you have two equally appealing options. The first is the city's zoo, the oldest in the state and home to 2,000 specimens of a myriad of species.

The second is the Fort Worth Zoo. It is somewhat removed from downtown Dallas, but has a much larger number of animals in its favour. It is also considered one of the top 10 zoos in the United States.

Either zoo is a great place to see and, above all, learn, as there are plenty of activities at both.

54. Learn about oriental art at the Crow Museum

The Crow Museum is one of the most unique museums you can visit in Dallas. It houses more than 4,000 pieces from Asian countries, especially China, Japan. Indonesia and Thailand. They are both historical and contemporary pieces that allow you to take an artistic journey through that continent.

If you decide to visit it, take some time to stroll through its wonderful garden. There you will also find interesting works of art or you can enjoy one of the events organised here.

If you are passionate about motor racing, you must visit the Texas Motor Speedway. This is where NASCAR and IndyCar races are held, the most popular car races in the United States. Let yourself be swept up in the roar of the engines and witness almost impossible overtaking manoeuvres.

And if your visit doesn't coincide with any of the events, the alternative is to be the star of the show. Not the races, but the unique and unforgettable experience of driving around the circuit in the car of your dreams, be it a Porsche, Lamborghini or any other supercar.

56. Make a stop in the heart of Dallas

Dealey Plaza is linked to Kennedy, but it has a much longer history and is well worth a visit. Built in 1890, this is the oldest building in the city. It was built on land donated by Sarah Horton Cockrell, a well-known Texan businesswoman.

Look at the image of the Old Red Museum, a unique building that she conceived as the county courthouse. And a little curiosity: the square is named after George Bannerman Dealey, renowned editor of The Dallas Morning News, the oldest newspaper in Texas.

57. Tour the Nasher Sculpture Center

Over the decades, Texas businessman Ray Nasher has amassed one of the most comprehensive collections of modern and contemporary sculpture in the world. It includes works by artists such as Rodin, Picasso, Matisse, Miró and others.

The Nasher Sculpture Centre was specifically designed to be able to admire them in all their beauty. The works are distributed both in exhibition halls and in fantastic gardens, which act as an open-air museum.

58. Have fun in Fair Park

Fair Park is a huge cultural and entertainment centre. It has venues for major cultural shows and concerts, sporting events and fairs. It is also home to a magnificent display of art deco architecture and its fountains offer colourful shows with water and music as protagonists.

You can also visit the African-American Museum, the Firemen's Museum and the children's aquarium. And if you need to recharge your batteries after all that sightseeing, indulge your taste buds in one of the many restaurants.

There are plenty of trails in Dallas that you can walk, run or cycle. One of the most affordable is the White Rock Creek Trail. It's almost 14 kilometres of easy walking, so it's a good plan for the whole family.

There are many other trails, some of them around White Rock Lake Park, the Dallas Arboretum or Fair Oaks Park. They are generally undemanding, making them perfect for a relaxing stroll.

60. Learn about the history of aviation at the Frontiers of Flight Museum

A journey from the early 20th century to the years of the space race. This is what this unique museum offers. Here you can see a plane from 1903, different aircraft used in the two world wars and in the Cold War, and even the Apollo VII command module.

Models, aircraft parts, flight simulators and countless objects related to aviation and space flight complete the museum's collection. It takes very little time to visit, but it is interesting and very educational.

For those who love shopping and fashion, Highland Park Village is a little paradise. The most exclusive shops are gathered in a national historic building. It boasts of being the world's first shopping mall, having opened its doors in the 1930s. Today it is a must for lovers of luxury.

If your finances don't allow you to buy everything you'd like, at least take a stroll through this charming shopping precinct. Its unique Spanish-style architecture and magnificent atmosphere will ensure that you have a good time. If you are lucky enough to be travelling to Dallas at Christmas time, I highly recommend a visit to this mall. Its Christmas lights will amaze you.

This square is one of the most unique places in Dallas. It was conceived as a place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and take a few minutes for recollection and prayer.

The square features a unique spiral-shaped chapel. To reach it you have to cross a bridge over a waterfall. But the real magic lies inside, adorned with incredible stained-glass windows that create a spectacular visual effect.

63. Play a round of golf

Texas has a great love of golf. That's why there are up to 30 courses in Dallas and the surrounding area alone. All of them are fabulous for the quality of the facilities, but some are also fabulous for the surrounding environment.

If you've played golf before, you'll have a great time at any of them. If you haven't, you can take a few lessons and give it a go at many of them. Fossil Creek, Trinity Forest, Dallas National Golf Club, Stevens Park and Tenison Park are some of the most renowned.

Great private tour, I went with my family and there is indeed something for everyone. My husband is a coffee lover and loved the Press Coffee Shop, I found the suspension bridge quite curious and my kids played sack races. We all had a great time.

The main shop was quite large and had a lot of interesting items for sale, we literally found everything here. Some items seemed to me to be quite reasonably priced for how beautiful and good they were. We were informed during check-out that there is a shop with some items on sale, so we took the opportunity to attend before we left.

It's well worth the visit and you can do the tour in a fairly relaxed day. The best time to go I think is in autumn or early summer, but if you're dressed appropriately you can go at any time as it's very enjoyable!
